Mission:

To engage the residents, businesses, and visitors of Park County through transparent communication, inclusive outreach, and public involvement.

What We Do

The Park County Public Affairs Office works to ensure that the public is informed about the initiatives, decisions, and activities of the Board of County Commissioners, county departments, and administration. We help make Park County a great place to live, work, and visit by:

  • Sharing timely and accurate information

  • Promoting public participation in government decision-making

  • Building trust through transparency and responsiveness

  • Supporting communication during emergencies and county-wide events

Key Services

Public Information & Outreach

We share updates on county programs, services, events, and priorities through a variety of channels, including press releases, social media, newsletters, printed materials, and in-person events.

Public Engagement

We create opportunities for the public to participate in local government by coordinating public input meetings, managing surveys, and facilitating communication with the Board of County Commissioners.

Emergency Communications

As core members of the County’s emergency response team, we provide critical information to the public 24/7 during wildfires, floods, weather events, road closures, and other emergencies.

Strategic Partnerships

We support and strengthen partnerships that serve our community, such as:

  • Colorado State University Extension

  • Park County Mental Health Alliance

  • School districts, nonprofit organizations, and civic groups

Public Relations & Media

We serve as the county’s primary media contact, managing press inquiries, and producing media content to highlight the programs of Park County.

Education & Awareness Campaigns

We plan and lead campaigns on topics such as wildfire preparedness, mental health resources, public safety, and community services.
