Harvest Grass Hay on County-Owned Property
The Board of County Commissioners intends to contract with a vendor/operator for a three (3) year period with annual renewal to harvest grass hay on county property known as the Deer Creek Meadow.
It is estimated that approximately 15-30 tons of hay will be harvested. All bids will be based on a price per ton for all hay harvested and should reflect a fair market value at the time the hay is harvested.
BID PREPARATION
Interested parties should submit one (1) copy of their bid, no later than October 1, 2024, to the attention of Mike Smith, Interim County Manager. Submittals may be mailed to PO Box 1373, Fairplay, CO 80440, or emailed to .
Submittals should contain a cover letter, not exceeding two pages, and concise, informative responses to each of the selection criteria listed below. Other information may be included, as well.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The Commissioners will evaluate each bid based on the following factors:
- General background of bidding party.
- Experience with similar operation contracts. Include references.
- What estimated time frame will all the hay be harvested and removed from the property.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Based on the information contained in the bid, an interview committee will determine which party could best meet the needs of the County. The interview committee will initiate negotiations with the successful party and make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received.
