Yes, when you create an account you are able to customize how messages are delivered.

A CodeRED™message will have the caller id of 866-419-5000 for emergencies and 855-969-4636 for non-emergencies.

You can set up your account to alert you only by text vs a phone call for non-emergency messages. The system will not allow emergency messages to be by text only due to the emergent nature of an emergency. A phone call will be attempted as well as text if you set up the cell phone to receive text alerts.

During an emergency we are attempting to reach as many residents as possible. The emergency itself such as a wildfire may overload cell towers with phone calls as well as the landline network (lines are busy), the text may be the only message that is able to get through which is why including the text option is very important. The system will attempt to contact the resident 3 times before it times out.

Residents that have a solicitation blocker on the phone will not receive the entire message. The CodeRED™ system will assume the message for solicitation blockers are in fact your answering machine message, wait for the appropriate amount of time and deliver the message.

You call the number back to hear the most recent message being sent.

Drag the blue balloon to the location of your home. You can zoom in and out of the map using the + or -. Move the balloon slowly so you do not lose your location on the map.
The CodeRED™ system uses the locations of your home based on your address to map the area to alert. If your homes location is not correct when you register, you may not get an important message.

The CodeRED™ system uses the geo-location of your cell phone to provide you an alert when traveling. The alert you receive from the mobile app is not the same alert you get for an alert involving your home. They are separate functions of the system. If you set up your cell phone for your home you will get those messages. Using the mobile alert, you will get messages that do not involve your home when your travel through an area that received an alert. For example, a wildfire in Jefferson county may include the roadway you are traveling on, as you enter the alert area your cell phone will receive that alert.

No, as long as your contact information has not changed. If you move you need to update all your information to your new location in Park County or cancel your registration if you have moved out of county.

No, you must sign up in order to receive an alert.

No, you must set up your account to have at least one telephone ring for emergency alerts for an incident that may occur late at night while you are sleeping. Also, if you have a cordless phone it will not work during a power outage. All numbers you enter into your account will be called during an alert.

No, unfortunately. Park County pays for CodeRED service based on its own population. However, we encourage you to check with the county or city in which you live. Many use automated telephone notification systems to alert residents in times of emergency.CodeRED

Yes, make sure you are using your address in park county and any landline that is appropriate. You can have your primary phone called in addition to your landline in park county as well as your cell phones.

Emergency alerts are usually for a geographical area. Incident Command will provide an area to be alerted. The 911 Center will create that mapped area in the system. Your residence may be outside of the mapped area. If you think you should have been alerted, contact the 911 Center Director at 719-836-4115.
