Park County, CO – As reported late last week, Park County is actively addressing an accidental wastewater spill that recently occurred in the Bailey area. We are working diligently with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), although neither have jurisdiction in this matter, to develop a comprehensive plan to mitigate the spill's effects and prevent future incidents.
We understand and deeply empathize with our neighbors who may be experiencing foul odors and other issues related to the spill. Our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of our community, and we appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents during this time.
Park County is committed to transparency and will continue to keep the public informed as we take the necessary steps to address and resolve this situation. We are dedicated to implementing measures that will help avoid similar occurrences in the future.
Ongoing updates will be provided as soon as they become available. If you are an impacted resident and have concerns or questions, please contact Park County Environmental Health Department at: 719-836-4267.
