Park County, CO - The United States Forest Service (USFS) continues the prescribed burn in Payne Gulch southwest of downtown Bailey. Here is a map of the impacted area. Smoke will be visible from many locations and could potentially impact visibility along highway 285 and county road 64, especially at night and in the early morning. It is expected to clear out each day.
According to USFS, firefighters successfully ignited approximately 120 acres in the Payne Gulch prescribed burn yesterday and another 300 acres is planned for today. All fire stayed within pre-established control lines as planned.
