We regret to inform the public of an unintentional treated wastewater discharge from a facility in the Pine area. The safety of adjacent property owners is our paramount concern, and it will be the focus of our immediate actions. The affected properties are Will-O-Wisp Metropolitan District and two private properties within the district.
Steps have already been taken to identify the underlying issues and determine the best course of action to ensure this does not happen again. The County is actively communicating with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to determine any additional required actions.
The operator has accepted full responsibility for the incident and has commenced cleanup operations. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary.
