[ARCHIVED] South Park Aggregates Withdraws Temporary Use Permit Application for Asphalt and Concrete Plant

Park County, CO - Today South Park Aggregates, LLC has officially withdrawn their application for the Temporary Use Permit Application 24CAP-01, which proposed the operation of a portable asphalt and portable concrete batch plant on the local property known as the Elle Belle Mine.

The applicant states, "In light of the situation, including protecting the health and safety of Elle Belle staff and supports, South Park Aggregates is withdrawing its Temporary Use Permit Application.”

Mike Smith, Park County Director of Operations, addressed the ongoing challenges, stating,” County staff and their family members continue to be harassed and threatened as well.”

With the withdrawal of the application, the Elle Belle Mine property will maintain its current status as an active gravel pit and mining operation. The property is zoned Mining, allowing gravel and the processing of extracted material as a use by right.
